the toppling towers
the sagging floor
worm-eaten wainscots
a fallen grandeur
a child was born
unhappy and accursed
a shade of melancholy
a youth in isolation
"May ne'er a noble of thy murd'rous line
Survive to reach a greater age than thine"
in a catacomb
in a medieval tunic
speaking in a rumbling voice
a debased form of latin
"Can you not guess my secret? Have you no brain whereby you may recognize the will which has through six long centuries fulfilled the dreadful curse upon the house? Have I not told you of the great elixier of eternal life? Know you not how the secret of Alchemy was solved? I tell you, it is I! I! I! that have lived for six hundred years to maintain my revenge, for I am Charles Le Sorcier!"

Swirling guitars, furious drums, vocals that at the same time howl from infinite distance and are right up in your head; everything put into dissonant form with the help of unconventional songwriting. This album is my personal key to the icelanding black metal madness that I've ignored for way too long! Lukas Kaufmann

Don't get me wrong. This is really good and everything is on point. But I'm just kind of confused about the huge elephant in the room regarding the band's name. Seriously? Like how is this not going to get mixed up with THE Leviathan? The Jef Whitehead 20+ year beast? I mean... what's next - "THE BTLS", "MTRHD" or maybe "VN HLN?" Music like this needs a less obvious touchpoint. Because as much as I like "Eradication of Nescience" - it's now begging to be compared to "Scar Sighted." Aka ... GTFO. bcb723
